Some project owners assume that "supervision" is a single task, when in reality these are two distinct roles: one safeguards the conformity of the build to the design, and the other safeguards the lives of workers and the safety of the site. Understanding the difference ensures your project is covered on both fronts.
Engineering Supervision
This focuses on the conformity of execution to the drawings, specifications, and building code — concrete quality, dimensions, materials, and the pouring and finishing stages. Its goal is for the building to emerge faithful to the approved design and to the highest standard of quality.
Safety Supervision (HSE)
This focuses on the work environment: protective equipment, securing excavations and scaffolding, emergency plans, and accident prevention. Its goal is to protect workers and the site and to comply with occupational safety requirements.
When Do You Need Both?
Medium and large projects need both together — quality without safety is a risk, and safety without quality is a shortfall in the result. At Cloud M&F we provide both forms of supervision within an integrated system that documents every visit and observation through to handover.
